Discover how MediaTek is actively equipping students at all levels with the skills and resources they need to succeed in their studies. Also, how the company puts the concept of taking and giving back to society into practice.
Education is vital to the continued economic growth of any country. Taiwan has a strong background in science and technology, but we want future generations to know more and have the ability to achieve more. To this end, we established the MediaTek Foundation in 2001 to promote science and technology education in Taiwan.
The MediaTek Foundation is actively involved in equipping students with the resources they need to succeed in their studies. Domestic and international scholarships, together with Cross-Strait academic exchanges, help students develop a thirst for knowledge and a wider of perspective about the world.
The foundation also provides long-term support for research projects in Taiwan as a way to foster a new generation of academics, engineers and scientists. Dozens of postgraduate studies have so far been funded, both nationally and internationally, with the direct effect of strengthening domestic technology research.
For many years, the MediaTek Foundation has been the patron of R&D facilities at National Taiwan University, National Chiao Tung University and National Tsing Hua University, in addition to other top-tier Taiwanese universities. Close cooperation between academia and industry and MediaTek remains committed to these investments.
MediaTek supports both short and long-term charitable endeavors. Contributions to relief efforts, investment in volunteer organizations and involvement with the arts are all a part of our wider business strategy.
International forums are also important to us. By helping academics present papers and giving lectures around the world, we turn an important spotlight on Taiwan, and highlight our nation’s achievements in science and technology on a global stage.
MediaTek has presented papers at the IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) for 11 years running. The ISSCC is the premier world forum for the presentation of advances in solid-state circuits and systems-on-a-chip. MediaTek’s efforts have done much to raise the international profile of Taiwan’s semiconductor industry.
