Alcatel launches its A7 and A7XL smartphones

At IFA 2017, Alcatel launched its A7 smartphone and slightly larger A7 XL with dual-cameras.

The A7 XL uses a 6-inch, Full HD display and 2.5D arc glass to deliver a sleek, curved edge for better grip and in-hand feel. Despite its larger size, it’s slim and light at just 8.65mm and 175 grams.

It has a powerful octa-core MediaTek MT6750 inside, with 3GB of memory, 32GB storage and microSD upgradability. The huge 4,000mAh battery will easily provide a day+ battery life, and includes fast-charging technology that can reach 50% in just 40 mins.

Its 12+2MP autofocus dual-camera delivers great image quality and detail in vivid color, with software including real-time DoF, refocus and background substitution techniques. The front-facing 5MP camera has a soft flash to capture beautiful images with great natural lighting.

On the back it also offers a fingerprint sensor that can be assigned to up to five shortcuts for different functions, including a private mode where users can protect photos and applications.

The A7 XL also comes with Google Assistant; the voice-activated, AI-powered virtual assistant that finds information and can perform personalized services, such as making a restaurant reservation or sending messages via voice commands only.

Meanwhile, the similarly stylish A7 has a slightly smaller 5.5-inch, 'super-bright' Full HD display. Also powered by the MT6750, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and microSD upgradability, it has faster Cat-6 connectivity. A single 16MP camera is at the back, with a 8MP front facing camera for selfies and video calls.

The A7 is due in Q3, while the A7 XL will follow in Q4.
