Mil-Spec CAT S41 is tough, powerful and packs a huge 5Ahr battery
If you need a smartphone that can weather just about anything, then CAT - yes that company that makes industrial excavators - builds phones to military grade specification (MIL SPEC 810G to be exact).
Its latest S41 is powered by the powerful Helio P20, 2.3GHz octa-core processor, plus 3GB of memory and 32GB storage. But what if you're trekking across the Antarctic? Well that's expandable with a 2TB microSD card (max), so you can take all the tunes for your trip.
The P20's WorldMode LTE 4G Cat-6 modem has support for global bands when you do get back to civilisation, as does the Glonass positioning support (but depends on S41 variant) and there's also a dual nano SIM support option as well.
It's massive 5,000mAh battery can allow you to talk for a day and a half or it'll give you over a month of standby time and it can even charge other devices - great if you're in the field and away from a power outlet for a while. But when you do run out, Pump Express 2.0 will fast charge it in no-time.
The S41 will survive in up to 2 meters of water for 60 minutes, a 1.8 meter drop onto concrete, extreme temperatures and salt fog, sand, dust, dirt, vibration and pressure resistance. It's Full HD super-bright display and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 works under gloves - even wet gloves - which is necessary if you need to keep those pinkies safe.
CAT sells the S41 and other ruggedized smartphones, direct from its website.
