MT8581: Premium UHD 4K Blu-ray with HDR support

The MT8581 is MediaTek's highly integrated multi-media SoC that has advanced capabilities for the latest video and audio standards: HEVC with 10-bit HDR and cinematic Dolby and DTS audio standards. It will playback common UltraHD 4K media standards with low-power use, thanks to its highly integrated design, and power efficient combination of quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cluster, and ARM Mali-T860 MP2 GPU.

When hardware designers pair the MT8581 with the MT8577A companion chipset, its creates an Ultra HD 4K Blu-Ray Player with HDR support. Products featuring the combo first arrived late 2016, with more available due soon.
