MT8785 - Cat-6 enabled octa-core tablet chipset

MediaTek's new MT8785 is a powerful, LTE Cat-6 enabled tablet chipset with 2GHz octa-core processor and Mali-T860 MP2 GPU. Blending powerful performance with fast 'WorldMode' connectivity, this chipset enables tablet, crossover or potentially even Chromebook products that can be used on global carrier networks.

The MT8785 CPU boasts a 64-bit processor with eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked up to 2GHz. This is combined with a 64-bit ARM Mali-T860 MP2 graphics processor at 700MHz, and up to 4GB of LPDDR3 at 800MHz.

With its low-power of high integration of functionality it makes an ideal all-day partner to power apps for business or personal needs.

The MT8785 provides both FDD and TDD LTE Cat-6 with 2x20 carrier aggregation support using a single RF for all markets. That means a single product design can be rolled out everywhere, lowering cost of development. Adding to the connectivity is 2.4/5GHz Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, as well as GPS, Glonass, and Beidou location services and Bluetooth.
