Redmi Note 8 Pro launches powered by MediaTek Helio G90T
The new Redmi Note 8 Pro is powered by the latest MediaTek Helio G90T with MediaTek HyperEngine gaming technologies, while Xiaomi adds its own Game Turbo 2.0 mode as well. MediaTek HyperEngine provides a wrath of technologies that optimize the whole smartphone. This includes intelligent networking, display latency optimizations, touchscreen improvements, outstanding picture quality and faster frame-rates.
In addition, to ensure longer, reliably faster gameplay MediaTek HyperEngine provides intelligent resource management, while the Redmi Note 8 Pro adds a liquid cooling element inside.
This is the first officially announced smartphone to feature a 64MP rear camera using the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor that includes quad-binning pixel technology. It's part of an impressive quad-camera array that also includes an 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP depth sensor and 2MP macro lens; a great combination for capturing any photo whether you need super-sized, portrait (with depth of field), a close-up or to capture the crowd.
Behind all this hardware is the MediaTek Helio G90T. It partners two of the latest, super-fast Arm Cortex-A76 cores with six power-efficient Arm-Cortex A55 cores, with all eight capable of operating up to 2GHz. This is paired with the latest Arm Mali-G76-class graphics tech and speedy 2133MHz LPDDR4x. Through a mix of these plus the G90T's multi-core, multi-threaded AI processing hardware there’s a total of 1TMACs of AI performance on tap. The Redmi Note 8 Pro includes AI-enhancements, like beautification for selfies from the front-facing 20MP camera, for example.
Gamers will enjoy the large 6.53-inch FullHD+ display that has over 91% screen:body ratio, providing a huge view for apps, games or video streams. Xiaomi offers the Redmi Note 8 Pro with memory and storageconfigurations of 6GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB, and 8GB/128GB respectively. Inside the microSD slot provides welcome extra space for those huge 64MP snaps, while Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5 means wireless connectivity is fast and reliable; NFC is perfect for payments and a 3.5mm audio jack is always welcome. The generous 4500mAh battery fast-charges via 18W USB-C connection (using USB PD).
