Sony 360 Reality Audio added into MediaTek’s portfolio of audio solutions
MediaTek’s audio chipsets are designed to bring high-quality, high resolution audio to sound bars, smart speakers and other connected audio devices. These platforms include a market-leading audio framework that's capable of supporting advanced audio processing technologies such as far-field speech recognition and multi-room music, plus audio playback when encoded using technologies from companies like Dolby and DTS. This capability will now grow to also include Sony’s innovative, new 360 Reality Audio. With Sony 360 Reality Audio technology integrated into MediaTek’s audio chipsets, consumers will be able to enjoy a new level of sound quality and a more immersive music and media experience.
What is 360 Reality Audio?
360 Reality Audio uses Sony's object-based spatial audio technology to deliver a new type of immersive music experience. Artists can take advantage of Sony’s 360 Reality Audio to create a three-dimensional sound field by mapping sound sources with positional information including distance and angle. Devices that support 360 Reality Audio will reproduce the intended sound from music creators, making listeners feel as if they are immersed in sound from all directions.
