TECNO POVA powered by MediaTek Helio G80

TECNO has announced that its hugely popular Pouvoir series will be rebranded and upgraded to POVA. Inspired by the product-first philosophy of ‘Powering Optimal Value and Ambitions’, the new TECNO POVA is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80. The G80 goes big with its Arm Cortex-A75 CPU cores operating up to 2GHz, big on 950MHz GPU clock speeds, and big on features with MediaTek HyperEngine gaming technology that optimizes the whole smartphone. The POVA also brings its own big features with super-sized display and battery.

By combining the power efficiency of the G80 and sustainable performance engine of MediaTek HyperEngine, with a gigantic 6,000mAh battery, users can get up to 20 hours of continuous gameplay, 8 days straight of music and 64 hours of calls from a single charge. When the battery gets low, the 18W Flash Charge gives over 6 hours of call time and 20 hours of music playback from just a 10 minutes charging burst – great if you get caught in a pinch. Its dual IC design and use of thermally conductive material inside the casing are both safer (the POVA has passed global safety certifications) and up to 20% more efficient at charging.

The TECNO POVA adds its ‘Game Space’, ‘Game Mode’ and ‘Game Assistant 2.0’ unique features that includes a ‘don’t disturb’ function, performance boosting modes and quick-access toolbar among other things. Meanwhile, the G80 with MediaTek HyperEngine provides intelligent management of CPU, GPU and memory performance to make sure gameplay is consistently smooth and reliable, without frame-rate dips or touchscreen misses.

The POVA offers a capacious 128GB of storage, enabling more space to store your favorite files, video captures and plenty of games. 6GB of fast LPDDR4X memory allows more fluid multi-tasking and responsive use every day.

The large 6.8-inch “Dot-in Display” gives a wide view of streaming videos, games, or apps while in hand, while the 8MP AI Selfie Camera with dual front-flash is always ready to capture a stunning selfie. TECNO adds AI beauty and portrait modes to its selfie camera, so you can always capture your best side.

At the back an AI camera array supports a 13MP main camera with fast f/1.85 aperture lens, macro camera and dedicated depth sensor, along with a ‘super quad flash’. The MediaTek Helio G80 provides a range of in-chip accelerators and powerful AI processing capabilities that provide hardware depth sensing, camera control unit, image stabilization and rolling shutter compensation technologies, enabling the POVA to capture a wide range of impressive photos in any conditions.

The POVA ‘SMART COMM’ keeps a constant check on its network status, ensuring the connection is always stable. Dedicated antennas for LTE and Wi-Fi signals ensure anti-interference and a better respective signal.
