Xiaomi Play launches in China, powered by MediaTek Helio P35

Xiaomi has just launched its latest phone — the Mi Play — with a large 5.84-inch all-screen design and teardrop notch elegantly nestled into the top lip. This FullHD+ (1080 x 2280) display provides a sharp (432 PPI), detailed image and its 19:9 ratio makes it taller, slimmer and easier to hold.
At the back, the Play features vertical dual cameras with 12MP main camera paired to a 2MP secondary providing the background view for portraits. Of course, there’s AI-inside for enhancing selfies, bokeh shots and beautification. On the outside, Xiaomi gives some trendy gradient options appear electrifying in dreamy blue, black or twilight (red/orange).
Inside the MediaTek Helio P35 is igniting the mainstream market with an octa-core of Arm Cortex-A53 that operate up to a speedy 2.3GHz. This is paired to a powerful IMG PowerVR graphics core, 4GB of quick LPDDR4x memory and Xiaomi’s own “Dual Turbo Smart Acceleration” tech that uniquely supercharges the CPU and GPU for gaming.
The chip is made on a highly power-efficient 12nm process, while MediaTek CorePilot technology effectively manages power efficiency for the Play’s large 3,000mAh battery. Together they keep things going for as long as you need it, while giving a sustainable performance and reliable user experience.
Dual 4G (nano-)SIM is supported, with VoLTE for high definition calls. The second SIM slot is interchangable with a microSD slot, which can expand the storage capacity beyond the 64GB internal storage if needed.
