Together with its ecosystem partners, MediaTek presented a series of active intelligent cockpit, in-car entertainment, and cutting-edge in-car connectivity solutions based on the Dimensity Auto platform. Currently, the intelligent transformation of the automotive market is gaining momentum, with AI technology deeply embedded in key areas such as assisted driving, intelligent cockpits, power response, and battery management. Consumers increasingly expect AI to bring transformative user experiences to smart vehicles. As the industry shifts from software-defined vehicles (SDV) to AIDV, intelligent cockpits are moving toward full-modal interaction, proactive services, and all-scenario task execution, gradually evolving into “active intelligent cockpits”. Platform Layer: Powerful AI Computing and Multi-Model Concurrency
- The Dimensity Auto Cockpit Platform C-X1 adopts advanced 3nm process technology, delivering up to 400 TOPS of full-modal AI computing power to meet the stringent requirements of active intelligent cockpits. Through large model decoding optimization, bandwidth demand for large models is reduced to just 10%, significantly improving computing efficiency.
- Supports Multi-Process Service (MPS), enabling multiple large model task processes to share GPU computing units simultaneously. During complex instruction execution, multi-model scheduling is highly efficient, with throughput increased by up to 50%, enhancing multi-task interaction and the application experience of active intelligent agent models.
Model Layer: Accelerated Deployment of Advanced Models
- With strong underlying architecture compatibility, the Dimensity Auto Cockpit Platform C-X1 integrates the NVIDIA Blackwell GPU architecture and deep learning accelerators, and supports the NVIDIA CUDA ecosystem. NVIDIA GPUs and CUDA ecosystem are the de facto standard for AI development and gives developers access to the bleeding edge of generative AI and large language model innovations. On this platform, automakers can bring to market the latest multi-modal large language models before anyone else, and enable the most innovative AI cockpit experiences for their users. Equipped with the Dimensity AI development kit (NeuroPilot SDK), offering optimization technologies, a visual development environment, and resources such as Model Hub, greatly improving the efficiency of AI development and deployment on the cockpit side.
- Integrates rich ecosystem resources, with MediaTek closely collaborating with leading global vendors to achieve early model architecture adaptation and efficient application deployment.
Application Layer: MDAP Dimensity Cockpit Software Solution
- Provides APIs for visual, voice, and emotion environmental sensing, helping automakers and developers achieve millisecond-level internal and external environment perception and targeted services via cockpit chips.
- Offers an edge-side Orchestrator, allowing automakers or developers to flexibly set up edge-cloud task collaboration based on real-world application scenarios, effectively optimizing the efficiency of edge-cloud service coordination and enhancing cloud service responsiveness.
- Provides standard application protocols (MCP, SKILL), facilitating rapid integration of cloud application ecosystems such as maps, social, communication, music, food, payment, and more into the cockpit, greatly expanding the boundaries of the intelligent cockpit experience.
In the field of immersive in-cabin entertainment experiences, MediaTek showcased its in-vehicle AAA gaming solution based on the Dimensity Auto Cockpit Platform C-X1. The C-X1 integrates NVIDIA RTX GPU ray tracing technology and NVIDIA DLSS technology, delivering realistic lighting and visual effects for game rendering, and providing smart vehicles with graphics rendering capabilities of up to 4K@60FPS.
MediaTek also demonstrated a new generation of in-vehicle connectivity solutions covering advanced 5G technology, satellite communications, Wi-Fi 8, and dual Bluetooth, using Dimensity Auto Connectivity. This flagship platform is the first to support 5G-Advanced communication and is among the world’s first to be compatible with the 3GPP R18 standard protocol. It supports NB-NTN and NR-NTN satellite communication technologies, bringing industry-leading satellite video call experiences. By supporting industry standard protocols, it will help automakers’ products quickly and seamlessly adapt to local communication standards in global markets, providing strong support for international expansion. Powered by MediaTek’s 5G-Advanced connectivity, the platform delivers high performance, low latency, and the world’s first automotive 3Tx DSDA (dual-SIM dual-active) capability, enabling it to meet the requirement of L3/L4 ADAS applications.
In close collaboration with ecosystem partners, the flagship platform aims to be among the first to power Robotaxis and Robovans on the road before the end of the year. For in-car network connections, MediaTek plans to introduce next-generation Wi-Fi 8 technology in the future, bringing a leap in network performance to smart cockpits; data throughput will be doubled, power consumption will be reduced by 50%, and network latency will be reduced at least 25% compared to the previous generation.
