4K UHD, Linux-based platform enabling cost effective digital TVs with global footprint

The MT5597 enables high-quality, cost-effective and feature-rich 4K UltraHD digital TVs with a global application. It combines a worldwide digital TV front-end demodulator, an UHD HEVC/VP9 video decoder, dedicated audio DSP, TV controller and Linux-based OS.

The MT5597 provides rich picture quality features including diverse HDR capability (HDR10, BBC HLG HDR, Dolby HDR), 4K60 MEMC and 4K Super Resolution technology, while industry leading adjacent and co-channel rejection capability grants excellent reception. Its professional quality image error-concealment provides a stable, smooth and mosaic-free video quality.

MediaTek’s worldwide common platform capability allows the MT5597 to supports ATSC, DVB-T/S/C/T2/S2, DVB-C, DTMB and ISDB-T demodulation functions. Digital TV brands can easily port the same UI to worldwide TV models, reducing the cost of development.

Powered by a four high-performance ARM® Cortex™-A53 ultra-efficient processors running at up to 1GHz and AMR Mali GPU, it offers superior user experience and features at low power consumption. Connectivity includes three HDMI 2.0 (one including HDMI 2.0 / MHL 3 combo), one USB 3.0 port and two USB 2.0 ports.
