Workplace Safety
Talent is the key to sustainable development. Employee wellbeing goes beyond corporate benefits; it is a critical aspect of corporate governance. MediaTek was recognized as a “Health 99 Enterprises” at the 6th CHR Health Corporate Citizenship Awards. The award evaluates companies’ employee health initiatives across four dimensions: health awareness, health activities, healthy diet, and health management. Assessment covers program planning, execution, and outcomes, as well as senior management support, resource investment, overall employee participation, program continuity, and health improvement results.
Driven by employee needs, MediaTek enhances employee wellbeing by strengthening physical and mental health support initiatives to create a supportive workplace. Certified under the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, MediaTek employs a systematic management approach to ensure a healthy and safe working environment. The Company implements employee health programs and continuously improves workplace ergonomics, demonstrating its commitment to employee experience through concrete actions and ensuring a secure and healthy workplace for all.
In 2025, MTK implemented measures and related training to protect employees’ personal safety and the working environment, with the following results:

Employee evacuation drills: 16 sessions conducted, with 12,236 participants.

Health promotion activities: 62 sessions conducted. The employee participation rate in at least one health promotion activity reached 78.6%.

Workplace health and safety risk assessments: ongoing.
Since 2015, MediaTek has regularly conducted company-wide evacuation drills that exceed industry standards, helping employees familiarize themselves with evacuation routes, assembly points, and headcount procedures. These exercises also incorporate firefighting simulations and first-aid rescue scenarios. Drills were held at office facilities in Hsinchu, Zhubei, Taipei, and Tainan, with a total of 12,236 employees participated in 2025.
To ensure a comprehensive workplace safety, MediaTek not only promotes safety awareness among employees and visitors on an ad-hoc basis but also conducts regular inspections across offices, public areas, meeting rooms, laboratories, customer office spaces, and facility operation areas. In 2025, there were 2 recorded occupational injuries cases to review environmental and operational safety.

Dedicated personnel monitor the safety and operation of the Company’s fire protection, utilities (water and power), and HVAC systems 24/7.

Designated staff perform daily safety inspections of office areas, equipment, and server rooms.

New-hire occupational safety and health training is provided monthly.

Company-wide emergency evacuation drills are conducted annually to continually strengthen employees’ emergency response capabilities and ensure safety.

Annual third-party surveillance audits of the Company’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System are conducted by SGS (ISO 45001 certificate valid Feb. 22, 2025–Feb. 14, 2028).

To ensure contractor safety management, MediaTek requires all on-site contractor personnel to undergo occupational health and safety training. This training includes hazard communication and the promotion of safe construction practices to prevent occupational accidents. In 2025, a total of 847 engineering contractors completed the safety training, successfully achieving the annual target of zero disasters, zero accidents, and zero losses.
Holistic Healthy Workplace
MediaTek firmly believes that only healthy employees can deliver outstanding performance. Consequently, we prioritize employees’ physical and mental wellbeing and are committed to fostering a holistic healthy workplace environment. Health centers across various locations are staffed by licensed healthcare professionals spanning fields such as nursing, psychology, and physical therapy. Through preventive measures, health management, health promotion, and workplace environment optimizations and various lifestyle services, we help employees alleviate physical and mental stress and elevate their overall wellbeing.

In 2025, our Taiwan headquarters organized 62 diverse health promotion activities, with an employee participation rate of 78.6%.

The Company launched the “Stronger Together, Back for Glory” health promotion campaign, encouraging individual and team participation through various sports competitions. The campaign effectively increased employees’ exercise frequency and strengthened social connections. A total of 10 competitions were held in 2025, attracting 3,062 employee engagements. Including 9,523 engagements in the champion prediction activities, total participation reached 12,585.

Fitness and exercise spaces are available across offices, equipped with selfpowered fitness equipment that supports both employee health and energy efficiency and carbon reduction. In 2025, MediaTek invested NT$11.93 million in maintenance and management to continuously enhance the exercise environment.

The Company has received the Sports Enterprise Certification for 9 consecutive years from the Sports Administration, Ministry of Education, demonstrating its long-term commitment to building a holistic healthy workplace.

MediaTek offices worldwide also jointly participated in Worldwide Yoga Day, connecting more than 400 employees across time zones to experience the benefits of physical and mental balance together.

Since 2025, the Company has gone beyond regulatory requirements by implementing flexible scheduling for health examinations, allowing employees to accumulate and use health examination subsidies. In 2025, a total of 9,981 employees participated in health examinations, with subsidies amounting to NT$68.27 million. Based on examination results, the Company proactively arranges medical consultations and health assessments for high-risk groups.

In collaboration with National Taiwan University Hospital Hsin-Chu Branch, MediaTek provided 864 hours of on-site medical services in 2025, with a total of 1,320 physician consultations during the year.

In 2025, the Company organized 9 self-funded pneumococcal vaccination sessions and 10self-funded influenza vaccination sessions, with a total of 3,969 vaccinations administered.

In 2025, MediaTek continued to publish the bilingual bi-monthly MediaTek Wellbeing Times newsletter, covering topics including health, finance, longterm care, relationships, and stress management to comprehensively address the wellbeing needs of employees across different age groups. 6 issues were published during the year, with cumulative readership reaching nearly 16,000.

The Company also organized holistic wellbeing seminars every two months. In 2025, a total of seven sessions were held, attracting 11,312 employee participations and 692 family member participations, with a satisfaction score of 4.9 out of 5.

In 2025, MediaTek continued to release the bi-monthly MediaTek Learning Together Podcast, aiming to enhance employees’ psychological resilience. The podcast invited experts, public figures, and employees to share experiences and insights from diverse perspectives. 5 episodes were released during the year, with cumulative listens exceeding 6,648.

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) has been established in collaboration with external professional organizations to provide each employee with three free counseling sessions per year, fully funded by the Company. In 2025, the utilization rate was 3.4%, with approximately NT$2.1 million invested in EAP counseling services. The program received an employee satisfaction score of 90 out of 100.

The Company has also established an internal Mental Health Prevention Program, under which dedicated psychologists and the Human Resources Department provide preventive education, counseling support, grievance handling, and crisis support based on case severity to safeguard employees’ mental health.

In 2025, a meeting room occupancy detection system was implemented and integrated with the existing reservation platform to monitor room usage in real time and automatically release unused or early-released time slots. On average, approximately 41% of meeting room slots were released daily, of which around 23% were subsequently reused, significantly improving space utilization efficiency.

Through the online reporting system, MediaTek continued to enhance the maintenance quality of office spaces. In 2025, a total of 4,912 cases were handled, with more than 97% completed within one day of reporting.

In 2025, an idle-occupancy fee mechanism was introduced for electric vehicle parking spaces occupied without active charging, effectively reducing cases where vehicles were not moved promptly after charging. As a result, the utilization rate of charging stations increased from 86% to 99%.

Employee cafeterias are subject to regular SGS audits and inspections every two months to ensure food safety and hygiene management. Across its office locations, MediaTek works with nearly 100 vendors, serving an average of nearly 30,000 meals per day and covering approximately 90% of employees.

In the 2025 satisfaction survey for on-site cafeterias, nearly 6,000 employees responded. Based on the survey results, the Company regularly rotates vendors to introduces more diverse options to enhance the employee dining experience.

MediaTek partnered with McDonald’s to open a restaurant in the Hsinchu headquarters cafeteria at the end of 2025. This provides employees with more diverse and convenient dining choices, enriching the culinary ecosystem, and enhancing the overall employee experience.

The Flexible Benefits Program allows employees to freely allocate their welfare funds across a variety of benefit items. In 2025, the overall reimbursement rate reached 99%.

MediaTek supports employees in forming interest-based clubs and provides subsidies for club activities. In 2025, there were nearly 79 employee clubs. The number of clubs participating in the Club Fair increased by four compared with the previous year, while overall satisfaction also improved.

The Company also engages massage therapists with visual impairments to provide professional massage and stress relief services.

In 2025, MediaTek held 9 blood donation drives, with 1,008 participants and 1,643 bags of blood collected.

For holiday sales events at company sites, priority is given to inviting nonprofit organizations and disadvantaged groups to set up booths. In 2025, a portion of proceeds from holiday gift box orders was allocated to charitable causes, resulting in a total donation of NT$149,160.

During the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Employee Welfare Committee presented mooncake gift boxes to all employees and incorporated a charitable component, donating NT$126,800 to the Huashan Social Welfare Foundation.
