Edge to Cloud AI, and Everything in Between: MediaTek’s Latest Chapter

Edge to Cloud AI, and Everything in Between: MediaTek’s Latest Chapter

It's been a big year for MediaTek, and it's far from over. Our flagship product portfolio has grown accordingly — from edge to cloud. MediaTek Genio Pro 5100 launched back in April, ready to power cutting-edge IoT applications like physical AI. Our data center business has expanded well beyond chip design into a truly holistic, silicon-to-rack approach, and NVIDIA just deepened its long-standing partnership with us across AI infrastructure, local AI computing, and automotive — including adopting the new NVLink Fusion platform to connect custom XPUs into NVLink rack-scale AI factories.

And there's more: we're building on that momentum with two new launches — our first ever Dimensity compute flagship chip for the new Googlebooks category, and our latest Dimensity smartphone flagship chip, one so far ahead of expectations that it's earned a new "Pro" designation.

    Dimensity 9600 Pro

Our latest flagship smartphone chip is the Dimensity 9600 Pro. It fuses NPU, CPU, GPU, and ISP into a single Native AI Architecture, where hardware and software act as one and every core is engineered to think together.

The "NPU" is actually two: the ultra-performance MediaTek NPU 1090, built for the most intense on-device generative and agentic workloads, is paired with the Super Efficient NPU 2.0, which is purpose-built for always-on scheduling of behind-the-scenes agents.

The "CPU" is our AI Compute Fusion Architecture, combining a revolutionary new All Big Core design with our latest Dimensity Scheduling Engine, backed by an end-to-end high-bandwidth hierarchy — spanning deep caches in-CPU and system-level, through the latest LPDDR6 memory and UFS 5.0 storage — to keep data flowing at peak speed at every level.

The "GPU" is our innovative Neural Graphics Architecture, a GPU-NPU sync that fuses the full capabilities of graphics and neural perception for superior super-resolution quality and speed. The GPU supports hardware-accelerated OMM raytraced games, and ray tracing pipeline capable of multi-material reflection for more immersive scenes, while also capable of achieving 185+ FPS gameplay!

And the "ISP" is our AI Imaging Fusion Architecture, an ISP-NPU cohesive imaging pipeline that redefines mobile photography and videography with a wealth of industry-leading features for creatives, such as 60FPS semantic analysis of each scene while capturing 4K video, plus 4K slow-mo at 240FPS, and 4K120 Log. Meanwhile we’re still giving photographers who want the option to capture straight from the sensor unaided by AI breathtaking detail and professional results.

We've packed all of this into a cutting-edge 2nm chip for radical power efficiency, making the Dimensity 9600 Pro the must-have flagship smartphone processor for the agentic era.

    Dimensity CX C10 Max

Speaking of new categories, Googlebook swept onto the personal computing scene earlier this year. MediaTek partnered with Google to help power the first wave of Googlebook designed for Gemini Intelligence. This week, we've revealed that chip: the MediaTek Dimensity CX C10 Max.

It's the first entry in our new CX (Compute eXperiences) processor family, and it launches straight at the top tier. Engineered on an advanced 3nm process, the Dimensity CX C10 Max fuses best-in-class CPU, GPU, and NPU technologies into a single powerhouse platform, built to unlock the full Gemini Intelligence experience from day one.

At its core sits a MediaTek NPU 890, delivering private, on-device agentic AI that automates your tasks and streamlines your day. In games, the chip intelligently manages its flagship performance to deliver smoother, more sustainable frame rates while avoiding overheating — even in slim, light notebook designs. Video calls get an upgrade too, thanks to an advanced ISP that supports superior camera sensors and professional-grade image processing, bringing studio-quality clarity to every meeting, conference, or virtual gathering.

Capable of running cool while sustaining exceptional performance and ultra-fast multitasking, the Dimensity CX C10 Max will start showing up in highly portable, immensely desirable notebooks with exceptional battery life in the next few months.

    NVIDIA RTX Spark™

One of the latest NVIDIA-MediaTek collaborations this year has been the RTX Spark, a new class of processors powering Windows 11 PCs purpose-built for personal agents. The joint effort fuses MediaTek’s foundational expertise in high-performance CPUs, advanced connectivity, and power efficiency with NVIDIA’s full-stack AI platform and suite of NVIDIA RTX technologies. The result is a SoC that delivers advanced agentic AI performance, content creation, and gaming in personal computing devices.

The chip is in a class of its own: with up to 20 CPU cores designed by MediaTek, up to 6144 Blackwell RTX GPU cores, up to 128GB of unified memory and a Petaflop of FP4 performance for AI and game-ready technologies like ray-traced worlds, the full DLSS suite, NVIDIA Reflex and G-SYNC. Yet, it’s also exceptionally efficient, capable of supporting highly portable devices with impressive battery lives.

    Data Center

This year, MediaTek's data center business took its holistic approach to a new level. We've taken a holistic approach to our partnerships, investments, and R&D — developing leading-edge technologies that span multi-die XPUs, interconnect, packaging, the system, and the rack itself. We've brought that story to life on our new Data Center Solutions website, with an animation walking through exactly how a wafer becomes a rack — from custom ASIC design, through advanced packaging, to a fully integrated AI compute system.

Most recently, that "silicon to scale" strategy took a big step forward: MediaTek and NVIDIA deepened their longstanding partnership across three fronts — AI infrastructure, local AI computing, and automotive. As part of the expanded collaboration, MediaTek is adopting the new NVIDIA NVLink Fusion platform, giving hyperscalers, cloud service providers, and frontier model developers a prevalidated path to build custom XPUs and connect them into NVIDIA NVLink-connected, rack-scale AI factories — pairing NVIDIA's accelerated computing and software leadership with MediaTek's expertise in custom silicon, power-efficient SoC design, advanced packaging, and interconnects.

Data center partnerships are just one piece of MediaTek's broader AI strategy, which — as reflected in this week's Dimensity and Dimensity CX launches — spans edge to cloud. While data centers handle the heavy lifting, edge compute plays an equally critical role: NPUs embedded in personal devices, smart homes, work devices, industrial and physical AI systems, vehicles, and even Wi-Fi gateways all give information a self-contained digital space to live in. That matters more than ever in the agentic AI era, where keeping sensitive, personal data private, secure, and on-device isn't just a nice-to-have — it's essential.

    IoT

That same edge-to-cloud thinking extends into commercial, enterprise and industrial AI — and physical AI in particular, like robotics and autonomous drones, which are gaining traction fast. These systems typically demand immense on-device compute to continually sense, interpret, and process their surroundings, so they can operate effectively and safely around people.

At Embedded World North America, MediaTek's AVP of IoT, Sameer Sharma, gave a presentation that dug into exactly this: the growth potential of these markets, the real-time, real-world challenges of deploying physical AI at scale, and how MediaTek's latest flagship IoT processor, the Genio Pro 5100, combined with our deep investment in AI software stacks, safety, and security, give developers a powerful yet flexible foundation for testing, building and scaling what comes next in this market.
