Navigating the AI Wave in Education with Help from Google and MediaTek

With the rapid rise of AI, both students and teachers are experiencing a major technological shift. Educators like Ms. Fang, from Sheng-Li Junior High School, emphasize that the goal of modern education is to build digital resilience and the ability to adapt to rapid changes in information technology.

The integration of AI tools into Chromebooks has significantly increased classroom engagement. By combining technology with gamified learning strategies, teachers are enhancing students’ enthusiasm for their studies. Students also value the convenience of using a single login across multiple devices, allowing them to continue their work without interruption.

AI is also becoming a valuable educational assistant. Tools such as Google Gemini and NotebookLM serve as multi-functional resources for both students and teachers, where students can use Gemini to help summarise key study points before exams, making revision more efficient. Meanwhile teachers can use AI to create engaging flashcards, images, reading materials, and quiz questions. With clear prompts, AI can also provide ideas, feedback, and creative direction.

Ultimately, the initiative helps bridge the gap between rapid technological advancement and social responsibility, ensuring students graduate with strong digital confidence.

To support this pilot programme, MediaTek contributed 93 ASUS Chromebook CM30 devices, powered by the MediaTek Kompanio 520. MediaTek has collaborated with Google for over a decade, creating dedicated platforms for Chromebook devices, helping promote their advantages in education environments, such as all-day battery life, robust multitasking and effective enablement of educational apps and connected services.
