The MT5582’s True 4K Decoder incorporates both 4K UHD HEVC and VP9 10-bit video decoding, providing rich picture quality features including 2K SRS, HDR10 and BBC HLG HDR for YouTube. Added to this is advanced audio processing architecture powered by a dedicated ARM11 processor with 64KB L2 cache which enables AAC, DRA, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby AC4/MS12, DTS, DTS M6/M8, and DTS Studio Sound II by multi-format decoder.

Continuing its leadership in multimedia and display enhancement technologies is MediaTek MiraVision™. MiraVision supports the latest HDR standard as well as provides proprietary enhancement technologies such as Ultra Resolution, which uses a high fidelity upscaler to transform 480p content into content with fine detail and great contrast that can match or even outperform native 1080p content.

The MT5582 is truly a global SoC made to support worldwide common platforms. This versatile chipset supports ATSC, DVB-T/C/S/T2/S2, DTMB and ISDB-T demodulation functions. Global Smart TV makers can easily port the same UI to worldwide Smart TV models, saving on design development costs. First-class adjacent and co-channel rejection capability grants excellent reception and professional error-concealment provides stable, smooth and mosaic-free video quality.

Powered by a power-efficient, yet high-performance combination of quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor and ARM Mali graphics necessary for a low-power Smart TV functionality with smooth user experience. Its embedded DDR allows manufacturers to design and build the most cost-effective integrated PCBAs thanks to their small size. Connectivity includes up to three HDMI 1.4 (one HDMI 1.4/MHL2.0 combo) and up to three USB 2.0 ports.
