MediaTek MT9666 is a high-end 4K60 smart display SoC with integrated MEMC. The MT9666 integrates a highly capable, 64-bit quad-core CPU, dedicated graphics engine and an AI processing unit (APU) that powers real-time image quality and super resolution enhancements.

The MT9666 is ideal for a wide range of applications including smart homes, conference rooms, reception areas, advertising, educational settings, large-screen presentations, cinematic uses, and other home, business or commercial applications.

Dedicated 4K Video Decoding Engine

MT9666 can decode 4K60 video streams using common multimedia formats such as HEVC, VP9 and AV1.

AI Image Quality and Super Resolution

The integrated AI processor (APU) powers MediaTek’s advanced AI image quality technology (AI-PQ) and AI Super Resolution (AI-SR). AI-PQ is a real-time enhancement technology that recognizes faces and scenes in the video stream, automatically adjusting the color saturation, contrast, sharpness, and performing noise reduction. AI-SR technology performs intelligent, pixel-level upscaling of video streams to the display’s native resolution while also minimizing jaggy elements, ensuring a best-in-class 4K viewing experience.

Integrated Voice Assistant Support

As an industry leader in voice assistant devices (VAD), MT9666 supports MediaTek AI-Voice technology powered by a dedicated, ultra-low power microcontroller with DSP connected to up to four far-field microphones. Low power standby and fast wake-up ensure that even when the smart display is in standby it can still be receptive to voice triggers. Brand manufacturers can integrate voice assistants into smart display devices to offer a convenient, hands-free interactive experience.
