Ultra-efficient AP with large camera and AI processor designed for Smart Displays and Home IoT applications

The MediaTek MT8175 is a highly capable and power-efficient smart display and home IoT platform that integrates a dedicated AI processor and ultra-low power wake-up word detection for voice assistants.

Built using an advanced, power-efficient 12nm process, the MT8175 combines a quad-core Arm-Cortex A53 MPCoreTM CPU with Arm NEON engine operating up to 2GHz with an Arm Mali G52-class graphics processor. An an AI processing unit (APU) operating up to 624MHz, plus programmable audio DSP operating up to 600MHz with local SRAM storage that provides the capacity for ultra-low power voice assistants and keyword detection.

The integrated AI processing unit (APU) provides up to 0.3TOPS performance, enabling accelerated AI-enhanced applications and OS-enhancements like personal assistants with very low power use.

Up to 13MP cameras and dual cameras are supported (two MIPI-CSI interfaces), plus video encoding acceleration up to 1080p60 using advanced HEVC encoding.

MT8175 supports up two displays up to WUXGA resolution (1920 x 1200) and includes MediaTek MiraVisionTM picture quality enhancement. A multi-standard video accelerator and an advanced audio subsystem are also integrated to provide power-efficient playback of advanced multimedia applications and audio/video content from local storage or streaming services, with decode acceleration for up to 1080p60 content with advanced HEVC or VP9 encoding.

Flexible memory and storage options means brands can choose performance levels to meet usage requirements or plan several products at different price-points around a single platform, saving development time and cost.

An embedded connectivity system includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and FM. With four advanced radio technologies integrated into one single chip, MT8175 provides the most convenient connectivity solution in the industry. It allows simultaneous voice, data and audio/video transmission on devices, while the small footprint with low-power consumption greatly reduces the PCB layout resource.
