MediaTek has proudly introduced a global ecosystem of consumer-ready Wi-Fi 7 products at CES 2023, including the MediaTek Filogic 880, and Filogic 380. These products are a culmination of our investment in Wi-Fi 7 technology, focusing on reliable and always-on connected experiences in various devices in several product categories, including residential gateways, mesh routers, televisions, streaming devices, smartphones, tablets, laptops, and more.
Wi-Fi 7 is built to power the next era of connectivity that will power advanced XR, cloud gaming, 4K HDR/8K streaming and support our increasingly connected lifestyles with effectively handling more devices per node than ever before.
Key features of new Wi-Fi 7 include an expanded 320MHz channel bandwidth, 4096-QAM modulation and new Multi-Link Operation (MLO) that enables a Wi-Fi connection to aggregate channel speeds and alleviate link interruption in congested environments for time-demanding applications. Unique among peers, MediaTek Filogic coordinates the aggregated traffic from a single chip (single-chip MAC MLO) which assures the fastest response (100x lower MLO switch latency, 25x reduction in CPU utilization) and best-in-class power efficiency (50% lower power consumption) compared to other multi-chip designs.

Building on this inherent design advantage, both the MediaTek Filogic 880 and Filogic 380 use an advanced 6nm chip manufacturing process, giving product designers unprecedented freedom to create novel designs that are potentially more compact/slimmer, and more power sustainable.
The Filogic 880 can achieve an unparalleled Wi-Fi 7 link speed of up to 36Gbps (BE36000), and includes a novel 4T5R antenna design and penta-band mesh to address a larger area of coverage and higher number of linked devices. The Filogic 880 also includes a dedicated Network Processing Unit (NPU) that can offload the main quad-core CPU, operating data control at full speed across Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections.
Meanwhile, the Filogic 380 is designed to bring Wi-Fi 7 connectivity (2x2) to a wide range of client devices, including smartphone, tablet, laptops, TVs, and streaming devices.
