MediaTek Filogic 860
Achieve unparalleled Wi-Fi 7 performance up to 7.2Gbps (BE7200) from an industry-leading connectivity platform for routers, repeaters, gateways, and access points. Benefit from a unique 4x5 antenna design that makes connections reaches further, a best-in-class single-chip MLO design, dedicated Network Processing Unit (NPU), and comprehensive Wi-Fi 7 features.
Unique 5x5 Antenna Design
The MediaTek Filogic 860 platform offers flagship Wi-Fi 7 performance up to 7.2Gbps PHY. The dual-band solution includes a 4x4 2.4GHz antenna array, plus a novel 5x5 5/6GHz antenna including a dedicated Rx for 0-DFS detection. The platform supports comprehensive Wi-Fi 7 features including 4096-QAM, MLO, MRU, and AFC.
- Highly efficient 6nm chip, Single-MAC MLO
- Dedicated-DSP for Tx memory DPD (EVM +5db)
- OFDMA RU (8+16), MU-MIMO (4+4)
- MAC Entries (Flexible shared 512 HW)
- MBSSID (16+16)
Key Features
MediaTek’s unique 5T5R 5/6GHz band allows for improved Receive Diversity and supports MRC (Multiple Receive Combining), boosting 5/6GHz range and throughput in typical indoor scenarios by +3dB with 4T5R, and an additional +4dB with iDPD RF improvement. It overcomes the limitations of the 5/6GHz to give mesh networking backhaul setups greater performance, reach and reliability.
Single-chip MAC MLO (Multi-link operation) is a unique architecture that allows optimal MLO performance in Wi-Fi 7 networks. This technology lowers latency by up to 100x versus competing Wi-Fi 7 solutions. Multi-link aggregation performed from a single chip ensures the fastest, smoothest, and most efficient band switching performance.
Filogic 860’s embedded CPU features a triple-core Arm Cortex-A73 with large internal cache and speeds of up to 1.8GHz for a class-leading performance of over 20K DMIPS. With the NPU offloading networking tasks, the CPE is free for device makers to offer OS customization, in-built services, and apps for extended functionality.
The in-chip, MediaTek-designed Network Processing Unit (NPU) provides hardware QoS acceleration and Tunneling Offload Engine for VLAN / PPTP / L2TP / GRE. It works with both Wi-Fi and Ethernet, ensuring full speed performance even when passing data between wireless and wired connections.
The MediaTek Filogic 860 platform is highly extensible, with high-speed internal and external interfaces including 10Gbps PCI-Express, USB 3.2 Gen-1 (5 Gbps), UART, SD, SPI, PWM, GPIO and OTP for rich platform customization opportunities.
One USXGMII provides 10Gbps Ethernet ensures full speed from wireless to wired is available, making the most of the latest 10G+ Fiber connections. In addition, a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port and four Gigabit Ethernet ports are available from the platform, ensuring an array of Ethernet connectivity speeds with great flexibility for device makers to customize designs.
Hardware-based Networking Crypto engine (EIP-197) for IPv4 NATP / IPv6 / DS-Lite / 6RD acceleration.
