The MediaTek Helio G50 supports a 50MP main camera, with dual camera photography that’s backed by a hardware depth engine for high-quality Depth of Field (Bokeh) effects in stunning portrait photos. Mobile device designers can add their own AI-camera features, such as AI beautification and enhanced precision in single or dual-camera Bokeh capture.
Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and a Rolling Shutter Compensation (RSC) engine cleverly mitigates warped (‘jello effect’) video when capturing fast action or panning. An integrated Camera Control Unit (CCU) powers Instant Auto Exposure (AE) to provide considerably faster focusing and exposure adjustment when environmental lighting conditions change suddenly.
The MediaTek Helio G50 provides entry gaming 4G smartphones with peak speeds of 2.2GHz from its octa-core Arm Cortex-A53 CPU. An IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU delivers the right mix of performance and power-efficiency, while device makers can add up to a capacious 8GB of fast LPDDR4x memory. The 12nm FinFET chip production process ensures the G50 delivers excellent power efficiency.
The global 4G LTE Cat-7 modem (2 CC-CA) is fully integrated into the chip for maximum power efficiency. The modem supports essential dual 4G SIM allowing VoLTE/ViLTE services on both connections. MediaTek TAS 2.0 smart antenna technology actively detects signal quality to provide the best connection at lowest power use.
A dedicated GNSS sub-processor provides a fast Hot TTFF with accurate results and ultra-low power operation. Integrated Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5 support simultaneous co-existence to significantly boost throughput and connection reliability when using Wi-Fi and wireless peripherals like headphones and gamepads.
