WHEN YOU'RE TAKING ANY KIND OF PHOTO
4X FASTER FOCUS
Our Hybrid Auto Focus system (PDAF + Laser AF) locks onto subjects faster than traditional contrast Auto Focus systems, especially on moving objects. And the Pixel-level Auto Focus technology (Dual PD Auto Focus) splits each pixel into two halves, each of which act as phase-detect elements and collect more light than ever. With this method, object distance can be extracted in extreme low light to improve focus speed.
BRIGHTER PICTURES IN LOW LIGHT
Just like auto focus, a system with slow brightness adjustment may also mean missing precious moment. Imagiq 2.0 introduces Instant Auto Exposure to provide ultra-fast and accurate exposure time control to track lighting change of the environment. Its incomparable performance comes from an embedded hardware design which allow the platform to adjust sensor exposure in every frame when it sense necessity.
TRUE 4K HDR VIDEOS
Native zigzag HDR engine and multi-frame HDR on Imagiq 2.0 help us to recover the dynamic range of what we see into the recorded video and the snapped photo, respectively. Our leading native zigzag HDR engine enable 4K HDR video at the lowest power consumption overhead, and new multi-frame HDR provides a ghost free result on the photo. And even better, they both works together with HDR detector which enable these features automatically.
WHEN at night or in a poorly-lit environment
Imagiq’s Advanced Image Stabilization (AIS) detects insufficient lighting that may result in blurry image due to long exposure. By dividing the long exposure time to multiple short ones, AIS deliver blur-free photos when taking pictures in poor-lit environment.
MULTI-FRAME NOISE REDUCTION
Multi-frame Noise Reduction reduces noise easier than ever before. A new multi-frame blending engine will use just enough number of input images to conduct noise reduction as well as smooth processing of occlusion region. These improvement benefits the processing time and smoothness of noise across image. User can hardly tell if multi-frame noise reduction was executed.

ELECTRONIC IMAGE STABILIZATION
Our Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) 3.0 solution includes a sophisticated hardware engine to estimate motion information with low power consumption. It means this solution can work solely on video inputs without needs of gyro. High quality grid-based motion are extracted and used in local image warping, resulting in smoother videos and less jello effect.
Image warping used to be conducted by GPU. Imagiq 2.0 introduces Warping Engine to accelerate this power consuming task for the first time for mobile device. EIS, lens distortion, or other image transformation can now be fixed by using dedicate hardware instead of processor.
MOTION ALIGNED NOISE REDUCTION
Motion aligned Temporal Noise Reduction is designed on Imagiq 2.0 to improves quality of previews and recordings. Temporal filtering-based motion aligned pixels will be more effective than before and the ISO gain of can be up to two stops. Preview and recordings will be much pleasant to watch because of less flicker noise.
PLAYBACK AT UP TO 1/32 SPEED
Super-Slow Motion allow video recording and playback at 960FPS, 32X slower than standard speed. MediaTek-powered devices also deliver intuitive editing tools and give the user total control over the slow motion effect.

DEEPER DEPTH OF FIELD
Imagiq 2.0’s Dual Camera Optical Zoom push the limitation of optical design a step forward. By equipping proprietary Clear Zoom digital processing, sharp image and video can be retained even at 10x zoom. Information which cannot be seen using telephoto lens can now also be restored by using our Multi-frame Super-resolution technology.
Our real-time depth map enables Real-Time Large Aperture DOF Effect effects, which are no longer the privilege of professional DSLRs. Imagiq lets your smartphone shoot videos and capture images near- professionally, at an F-number as small as 0.8.
DEPTH MAP FOR EXPLORING 3D
Real-Time Depth Estimation is also on-board. With highly integrated hardware circuitry, Imagiq extracts the depth map out of stereoscopic videos in real time to allow you explore 3D in a brand new way.
RAISING THE BAR FOR IMAGE QUALITY
Color+Mono Denoising uses the Color+Mono camera together with our integrated computational photography algorithm. It raises the bar for low-light image quality without introducing artifacts during processing.
