The MT5596 is MediaTek's flagship 4K UltraHD SmartTV SoC, powered by a high-performance 64-bit ARM-A53 quad-core processor operating at up to 1.1GHz and a Mali-T860 MP2 graphics processor providing optimal performance with low energy consumption and support for Android Extension Pack.

MediaTek MiraVision bakes in rich multimedia functions including leading-edge video decoding support of HEVC/VP9 10-bit with HDR, up to 4K UHD 60 fps. This is suitable for internet TS/IPTV streams, Netflix or YouTube. Meanwhile worldwide demodulation capabilities include ATSC / DVB / DTMB / ISDBT.

MediaTek's 11th generation picture quality engine builds on previous advancements and includes HDR hardware processing and SDR to HDR conversion from MediaTek's Ultra Resolution: an upscaling technology that enhances details without adding artifacts, by using the highest fidelity scaler for unmatched signal preservation and a sophisticated content classifier for fine-grained detail restoration.

Audio post-processing is powered by a dedicated ARM11 processor with L2 cache and two ADSPs. Its dedicated processor ensures always-ready performance for the latest Dolby MultiStream Decoders MS12 DAPv2 and DTS Studio Sound II (TheaterSound 3D ver 4) that encompasses the breadth of Dolby and DTS consumer audio formats.

Connectivity includes up to four HDMI 2.0 with HDCP2.2/1.4 (including one HDMI2.0 / MHL3 combo port), Wi-Fi (with Google Cast ready receiver), Ethernet and USB 3.0 ports.
