The MediaTek Helio P60 brings together a deep and diverse mix of class-leading hardware. It combines the incredible power of four, big Arm Cortex-A73 processors among its octa-core CPU; a multi-core AI Processing Unit (Mobile APU) for efficient edge-AI processing; the latest Arm Mali-G72 GPU; 20:9 FullHD+ display support; and three power-optimized ISPs and other hardware-enhancements paired to supersized cameras. Mutli-Core AI Processing Unit

MediaTek Helio P60 brings NeuroPilot™ intelligence to the heart of your smartphone. Its heterogeneous AI-compute architecture works seamlessly across CPU, GPU and Mobile APU within the SoC. The Mobile APU includes multi-core processor combined with an intelligent control logic. It is 2X more power efficient than a GPU and generates class-leading edge-AI processing performance of up to 280GMAC/s.

In conjunction with the P60’s incredible camera technology, users can enjoy AI-infused experiences in apps with deep-learning facial detection (DL-FD), real-time beautification, novel, real-time overlays, object and scene identification, AR/MR acceleration, enhancements to photography or real-time video previews and much more.

Applications can be built using common frameworks such as TensorFlow, TF Lite, Caffe and Caffe2 or other 3rd party frameworks, and at the API level standard Google Android Neural Networks API (Android NNAPI), while the NeuroPilot SDK extensions allow developers and device makers to bring their code closer-to-metal for better performance and power-efficiency.

Big Core Power meets Incredible Power Efficiency

Bringing the power of big core performance to Android smartphones, the new octa-core CPU boosts performance in demanding applications and combined with the new Arm Mali-G72 MP3 GPU at up to 800MHz boosts games up to 70% vs previous generation P series.

These high-performance CPU’s and GPU’s require plenty of memory bandwidth, so the MediaTek Helio P60 provides up to 8GB of ultra-fast, yet highly power-efficient LPDDR4X at 1,800MHz.

The SoC hardware is fabricated on the latest TSMC 12nm FinFET production process, which is up to 15% lower power than other 14nm products and brings the performance close to 10nm generation products.

Power management is critical to provide the best possible user experience and MediaTek CorePilot 4.0 provides Thermal Management, UX Monitoring and Energy Aware Scheduling to focus on maintaining a sustainable, high performance user experience.

Compared to previous generation P series, the Helio P60 is up to 12% more power efficient overall and up to 25% in highly demanding games, allowing you to play for much longer.

Incredible Photography with Extensive Hardware Enhancements

MediaTek Helio P60 smartphones can combine up to a 24+16MP dual camera array or single 32MP shooter. It’s hardware-driven, high resolution depth engine gives a 3X boost in depth-mapping performance, enabling real-time depth of field (bokeh) calculations.

With three, power-optimized ISPs it saves up to 500mW, equating to 18% over the previous generation. Working together they can fuel a supersized 32MP sensor at 30fps with zero shutter delay (ZSD), or a 16MP sensor at 90fps for ultra-fast, multi-frame recording.

When preparing to shoot any kind of picture or video, MediaTek Helio P60 can auto-detect, process, display and record HDR images in real-time - allowing you to see exactly what you’ll shoot – with embedded auto-enhancements such as multi-frame noise reduction, RAW-domain multi-frame HDR, Zig-Zag HDR and PDAF.

Further hardware enhancements include a hardware warping engine used for electronic image stabilization (EIS); an anti-blooming engine preventing white-out; accurate face detection and intelligent scene detection for better 3A (AE, AF and AWB) and MEMA 3DNR.

Power-efficient 4G LTE WorldMode Modem with Latest Technologies

MediaTek’s latest generation 4G LTE WorldMode modem focuses a power efficient design with latest cellular features and standards, such as IMS (VoLTE\ViLTE\VoWi-Fi), which is now supported by over 100 cellular operators world-wide; global eMBMS, and HPUE and 600MHz (Band 71) frequency support in North America.

Dual 4G Dual VoLTE is available on the MediaTek Helio P60, enabling both SIM’s with 4G LTE. VoLTE and ViLTE provide the best possible call and live video experience, with faster call setup time noticeably better sound quality. With 4G LTE benefits, the second SIM also has faster connectivity, more reliable coverage and lower power consumption than previous generation products, it meets the needs of 4G-only operators and is future proof as 2G/3G networks are progressively retired.

MediaTek’s innovative Transmission Antenna Switching (TAS 2.0) technology enhances the user experience by using the best antenna combination to provide optimal and sustained signal quality at lowest power. This provides not only a sustainably faster data connection, but it also makes smartphones safer to use.

The platform includes a Cat-7 (DL) / Cat-13 (UL) performance 4G LTE modem, while local connectivity and location services include 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, multi-GNSS options and FM radio.
