MediaTek M90 modem achieves 5G performance milestone

MediaTek and Keysight Technologies collaborated to achieve nearly 12 Gbps data throughput with MediaTek’s latest M90 5G modem using NR-DC connectivity and Keysight’s Network Emulation Solutions, replicating complex scenarios while emulating real-world 5G network conditions in a lab environment. Rigorous lab testing and validation are crucial to ensure that 5G chipsets can handle complex real-world scenarios and deliver superior performance.

Announced at MWC 2025, this achievement demonstrates the true potential of the new M90 modem and NR-DC technology to unlock even greater performance for cellular devices, whether mobile, CPE, IoT, or automotive. With its unparalleled performance potential and industry-leading features, the M90 modem can unlock next-generation applications that demand high performance, low-latency and connection reliability, including immersive gaming, XR devices, multi-person UHD streaming (in-vehicle services), intelligent gateways, and hybrid computing (ICC).

The advanced 5G features in our upcoming flagship modem make it possible for device manufacturers to offer design flexibility, as well as a highly integrated and optimized total solution for the best possible user experience across devices, said Mingxi Fan, Head of Wireless Systems and ASIC Engineering at MediaTek. We are pushing the limits of current and next-generation connectivity, ensuring we can continuously meet the needs of our customers as they develop new applications for computing, gaming and more.
