Accelerating Our Sustainability Goals with Commitment to Net Zero Emissions by 2050!

MediaTek is among the first wave of IC design companies in Taiwan to have its near-term and net-zero targets, aligned with the 1.5°C pathway of the Paris Agreement, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

MediaTek has committed to the goal of net zero emissions by 2050. In this drive towards net zero, we aim to reduce total carbon emissions, as part of its deep commitment to sustainability.

Reflecting on MediaTek's commitment to sustainability, Rick Tsai, MediaTek's Vice Chairman, CEO and Chairperson of the ESG Committee, said: "MediaTek is a global leader of innovative IC design technologies. We deeply recognize our responsibility and commitment to the environment and we continue to drive forward low-carbon sustainability initiatives. We hope that our efforts can influence the supply chain for the better and that the industry can work together to accelerate sustainability efforts to protect the Earth."

We will focus on green design, energy conservation & carbon reduction and responsible supply chain management to achieve our target.

Our Net Zero Goals

By 2030

Reduce GHG emissions in Scope 1 and Scope 2 by 40% from 2020 base year.
Reduce GHG emissions in Scope 3 by 25% from 2020 base year.
All MediaTek offices will use 100% renewable energy.

By 2050

MediaTek will reach net zero GHG emissions.
