MediaTek Biodiversity Statement
MediaTek recognizes the critical importance of biodiversity to the Earth’s ecosystems and understands the key role that forests play in maintaining ecological balance, regulating the climate, and providing essential resources for human survival. Therefore, MediaTek supports international initiatives such as the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (K-M GBF), and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We are committed to continuously reducing environmental impacts across our operations, conserving biodiversity, and supporting forest conservation. We also encourage our supply chain partners to take part in these efforts.
Strategies
-
All MediaTek global operations strictly adhere to local environmental protection laws and regulations. In the event that any new operations are located near biodiversity-sensitive areas or forest reserves, we will take actions such as "Avoid, Reduce, Regenerate, Restore, or Transform" to minimize the impact of our operations on the natural environment.
-
Prior to initiating new business operations, we will assess the potential impacts of our activities on external stakeholders (such as indigenous communities) and conduct appropriate consultations when necessary.
-
In line with our net-zero emissions goal, we are dedicated to continuously mitigating the impact of greenhouse gases on climate change. We also actively promote initiatives such as resource recycling and waste reduction to minimize the environmental footprint of our operations.
-
We continuously promote the concept of biodiversity, enhance awareness of ecological conservation among stakeholders (including employees, suppliers, and the general public), and encourage active participation in conservation efforts.
