Message from the Chairman

Driving Sustainable Innovation in the AI Era

In 2025, MediaTek delivered record financial results and maintained a leading position amid rapid technological shifts. Yet, true corporate value extends beyond financial milestones; it lies in harnessing technology for enduring environmental and social progress. We have integrated sustainability across our operations—from low-power product design and green supply chains to biodiversity and net-zero commitments and workplace inclusion—using semiconductor innovation to build a sustainable foundation for the AI era.

Silicon-Level Efficiency & Value Chain Integration

The rapid expansion of AI from the cloud to the edge demands unprecedented energy resources. We address this challenge directly at the silicon level by minimizing product size and power consumption during chip design. For example, our flagship Dimensity 9500 mobile platform and upcoming 2-nanometer products are designed with best-in-class low-power performance. Beyond our products, we collaborate across our global supply chain to reduce emissions. In 2025, our local procurement in Taiwan reached nearly NT$300 billion, reinforcing our commitment to mutual prosperity with our partners and the local economy.

Climate Stewardship & Ecosystem Protection

A healthy environment is the bedrock of long-term corporate success. Our carbon reduction targets are officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), establishing a rigorous, science-based pathway focused on direct emissions cuts. In 2025, we expanded our environmental commitment by issuing a Biodiversity Statement. We remain on track toward two major milestones: utilizing 100% renewable energy across all global offices by 2030 and achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Digital Inclusion & Shared Well-being

Technology serves its highest purpose when it uplifts society. At MediaTek, we are committed to fostering a workplace of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) that supports every individual's potential. Externally, we promote "Tech for Good" through our "Genius for Home" initiative, empowering communities to address local pain points with technology. We also support robust STEM education to prepare the next generation of innovators. Our goal is to bridge the digital divide systemically, ensuring the benefits of technology transcend regional, gender, and generational boundaries. As we navigate future challenges and opportunities, we will seize AI’s momentum to grow alongside our global partners. Our sustainability strategy rests on six foundational pillars: global presence, innovation, talent, corporate governance, environmental management, and community engagement. We will continue enhancing and enriching everyone’s life.
